For Dealer Purchases

Independent Inspections at Spokane Dealerships

Buying from a dealer doesn't mean you have to trust their word alone. Our mobile inspection service comes to any dealership in Spokane - franchise or independent - so you know exactly what you're buying before you sign.

Why It Matters

Dealers Inspect Cars. So Should You.

Dealership inspections serve the dealer's interests. An independent inspection serves yours.

Dealer Inspections Have Limits

Dealers inspect vehicles, but their goal is to sell cars. Our goal is to give you the complete picture - good and bad.

Certified Pre-Owned Isn't Foolproof

We've inspected 'certified' vehicles with issues the certification process missed. An independent check adds real peace of mind.

High-Pressure Environment

Dealerships are designed to close deals. Having inspection results in hand helps you negotiate from strength, not pressure.

Finance Office Surprises

Knowing exactly what you're buying before you reach the finance office prevents expensive add-on pressure.

Simple Process

How Dealer Inspections Work

We make it easy to get an independent inspection without disrupting your car-buying process.

1

Book Your Inspection

Schedule online and tell us which dealership has the vehicle. We'll need the dealer name and vehicle details.

2

Notify the Dealer

Let the salesperson know you're having an independent inspection. Most dealers welcome this - it shows you're a serious buyer.

3

We Handle the Rest

We arrive at the dealership, conduct the full inspection, and send you the complete report with video - usually within hours.

4

Make Your Decision

Review the findings, use them to negotiate if needed, and decide whether to proceed with confidence.

Real Talk

Dealers Aren't the Enemy - But They're Not Your Advocate Either

Most Spokane dealerships are reputable businesses. They inspect their inventory, and many offer warranties. But their job is to sell cars, and their inspections serve that goal.

Our job is different: we work for you. We document everything - the good and the bad - so you can make a truly informed decision. That's the value of independence.

Watch Out

Pressure Tactics to Recognize

Dealers aren't trying to scam you - they're just incentivized to close deals. Recognizing these common tactics helps you stay in control.

"We have another buyer coming to look at it today"

Classic pressure tactic. Real buyers don't disappear because you want to do due diligence. A vehicle that's worth buying today is still worth buying tomorrow.

"You don't need an inspection - we already inspected it"

Their inspection serves their interests, not yours. If they're confident in the vehicle, they should welcome independent verification.

"What can I do to get you to buy this car right now?"

They're trying to close before you have time to think. A good deal doesn't require immediate decisions.

"That's on our list to fix"

If it's not fixed yet, it's not fixed. Get any promised repairs in writing before you sign, or negotiate the price accordingly.

Resistance to independent inspection

A dealer with nothing to hide welcomes inspection. Hesitation or pushback suggests they know something they don't want documented.

Your Most Powerful Tool: Walking Away

A salesperson's job is to prevent you from leaving without buying. Your ability to walk away is your greatest leverage. There's always another car - don't let urgency manufactured by someone else drive your decision.

FAQs

Dealer Inspection Questions

Will dealers let you inspect their vehicles?
Yes, the vast majority of dealers welcome independent inspections. It signals you're a serious buyer, and reputable dealers have nothing to hide. We work with dealerships throughout Spokane regularly. If a dealer refuses an inspection, that itself is valuable information about whether you should buy from them.
Should I get an inspection on a certified pre-owned vehicle?
We recommend it. Certified pre-owned (CPO) programs vary significantly in thoroughness. We've found issues on CPO vehicles that the certification process missed. The CPO warranty is valuable, but knowing the actual condition before you buy is even better.
When should I schedule the inspection - before or after negotiating?
Ideally, schedule the inspection after you've identified the vehicle but before you've committed to a price. This gives you leverage: if we find issues, you can negotiate accordingly. If the vehicle checks out, you can proceed with confidence.
How long does the dealer need to make the car available?
Our inspection takes approximately one hour. We coordinate with the dealer's schedule and work around their operations. Most dealers are happy to set aside the vehicle for this time when they know it helps close the sale.
What if you find serious problems?
You'll know before you buy, which is exactly the point. You can negotiate a lower price reflecting needed repairs, ask the dealer to fix issues before purchase, or walk away entirely. Either way, you're making an informed decision.
Do you inspect at dealers outside Spokane?
Yes, we cover the greater Spokane area including Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, Airway Heights, and Post Falls/Coeur d'Alene (with zone fees for extended areas). Check our service area for specific coverage.
